Project: Shiksha Sambal Program, Fellowship Program

The Fellowship Program, started in 2022 in the schools of Ajmer, Agucha, Chittor and Dariba under Shiksha Sambal Project, is a major program of Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL) and Vidya Bhawan. This program was operated as a pilot project in the years 2022-24, Under this intervention, selected fellows with B.El.Ed. and B.Ed. degrees from various universities in the country will directly engage with children
from Class 6 to Class 8 by identifying language, mathematics and cognitive abilities and improving their understanding of the basic skills of these subjects. It was an activity-based intervention with children from all classes, using a variety of teaching materials under the guidance of eminent reference persons and an attempt was made to involve children, teachers, and the community.

Fellows Responsibilities:
● Field fellows collaborate on planning and executing Shiksha Sambal Programs, while also carrying out assigned tasks, conducting research, and actively participating in meetings and discussions. Additionally, they play a key role in implementing competency-based education and inclusion programs in schools to create inclusive learning environments.
● Fellows engage in personal and professional growth, deepening their understanding of programs and curriculum, while also visiting classrooms to implement plans, observe, and provide feedback, ensuring resource maintenance and active teacher involvement.
● Field fellows are supported by researchers or project leads in conducting field-based research. They assist in literature reviews, data analysis, and preparing reports, presentations, and deliverables.
● Field fellows contribute to achieving project targets, plan intervention, changing the classroom scenario and create innovative impact through their direct teaching intervention with students and teachers, conducting assessments and data collection, data cleaning, statistical analysis, and qualitative interpretation.
● They are sincerely expected to participate in capacity-building workshops and submit their tasks within the given timeline.
● They are responsible for maintaining accurate records of activities and outcomes, preparing regular reports, drafting sections based on their involvement, and providing insights or recommendations.
● Collaborative engagement with fellows, team leaders, subject researchers and experts, and stakeholders is essential. Network with individuals and organizations aligned with the program objectives.
● Field fellows use the opportunity for personal and professional growth, seeking to expand their knowledge and improve their research skills.

Who can apply:
● A bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or Graduate/ Post Graduate with B.Ed degree in a relevant Subject (Language & Mathematics)
● Demonstrated interest and commitment to personal growth, social change, and the principles of integral education
● The candidate must possess good knowledge about their subject
● The candidate must have Excellent written and communication skills in Hindi and English Language
● Research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and interpret information
● Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with diverse stakeholders

Summary of Shiksha Sambal Program: 

Started in 2008, the Shiksha Sambal Project (SSP) by Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL) aims to provide quality education to underprivileged rural children at the senior school level. In 2016, Vidya Bhawan Education Resource Centre (VBERC) joined as a technical partner. This partnership involves HZL, VBERC, and the Rajasthan government, operating in 75 schools across 6 districts in Rajasthan. SSP engages over 13000+ students and 190 teachers, focusing on Science, English, and Mathematics through activities like camps, reading melas, and additional classes. The primary goal is to enhance Class IX and X students’ conceptual clarity and improve their Board exam performance.  

1. Field Coordinator (2) 

Job location:-  

∙Zawar mines 

∙Agucha, Bhilwara 

Responsibilities: (Field Coordinators) 

∙Supervise and mentor FPs; monitor their performance, attendance, logbooks, andclassroom practices. Provide regular feedback and support for improvement.  

∙Coordinate location-level camps, tests, workshops, and other SSP activities. Ensureeffective implementation within the planned timelines.  

∙ Maintain regular coordination with DEO, CDEO, CBEO, principals, and government teachers. Organize meetings and facilitate programme – related communication.  

∙ Facilitate student-family visits by FPs/FCs and strengthen engagement with parents and the community. Support efforts to improve student participation.  

∙ Develop, maintain, and manage the LRC. Ensure proper availability, organization, and effective use of learning resources.  

∙ Manage receipt, distribution, and maintenance of study materials. Collect, verify, and maintain accurate school-level data and programme records.  

∙ Prepare and submit monthly reports to the SSP Location Coordinator and HZL CSR team. Ensure timely reporting of activities, progress, and key issues.  

∙ Ensure timely collection of narrations, success stories, and case studies from programme personnel. Develop and share relevant stories with the VBS team.  

∙ Support location-level audits and ensure availability of required records and documents. Follow up on observations and ensure timely compliance.  

∙ Coordinate day-to-day SSP operations at the location. Ensure effective communication among FPs, SSP, VBS, HZL, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities: (Field Personals) 

∙Field personals (FPs) collaborate on planning and executing of the teaching of Science, Math and English subject of secondary level including lab work in Shiksha Sambal Programs,  

∙Lesioning with government schools’ staff and Shiksha Sambal team and community.  

∙Actively participating in all program activities. Additionally, they play a key role in implementing competency-based education and inclusion programs in schools to create inclusive learning environments. 

∙Field personals contribute to achieving project targets, plan intervention, changing the classroom scenario through their direct teaching intervention with students and teachers.  

∙They are responsible for maintaining accurate records of activities and outcomes, preparing regular reports, drafting sections based on their involvement, and providing insights or recommendations.
